چکیده

Free actions of finite groups on spheres give rise to topological spherical space forms. The existence and classification problems for space forms have a long history in the geometry and topology of manifolds. In this article, we present a survey of some of the main results and a guide to the literature.

Manifolds with Quadratic Curvature Decay and Fast Volume Growth

We give sufficient conditions for a noncompact Riemannian manifold, which has quadratic curvature decay, to have finite topological type with ends that are cones over spherical space forms.

On some forms of e*-irresoluteness

‎The main goal of this paper is to introduce and study two new class of functions‎, ‎called weakly $e^*$-irresolute functions and strongly $e^*$-irresolute functions‎, ‎via the notion of $e^*$-open set defined by Ekici [7]. ‎We obtain several fundamental properties and characterizations of these functions‎. ‎Moreover‎, ‎we investigate not only some of their basic properties but also their relat...

Spherical Topological Relations

Abstract. Analysis of global geographic phenomena requires non-planar models. In the past, models for topological relations have focused either on a twodimensional or a three-dimensional space. When applied to the surface of a sphere, however, neither of the two models suffices. For the two-dimensional planar case, the eight binary topological relations between spatial regions are well known fr...

Topology and Phase Transitions: The Case of the Short Range Spherical Model

We characterize the topology of the phase space of the Berlin-Kac spherical model in the context of the so called Topological Hypothesis, for spins lying in hypercubic lattices of dimension d. For zero external field we are able to characterize the topology exactly, up to homology. We find that, even though there is a continuum of changes in the topology of the corresponding manifolds, for d ≥ ...
